A creamy, elegant holiday flan infused with soft almond nougat — a Spanish-inspired dessert that brings warmth, tradition, and irresistible flavor to your festive table.
About Soft Turrón (Turrón Blando)
Soft turrón — or turrón blando de almendra — is a creamy Spanish nougat made by finely grinding roasted Marcona almonds with honey until the mixture becomes smooth, rich, and almost velvety. Unlike hard nougat, which is crisp and brittle, soft turrón melts effortlessly on the palate and delivers an intense almond flavor with a naturally sweet aroma. Its luxurious texture makes it ideal for incorporating into festive desserts like nougat flan. We’ve included a link in the article so you can see how to make homemade soft turrón with Deliart Marcona almonds, perfect for enjoying on its own or using in your holiday recipes.

Ingredients
For the flan
- 4 large eggs
- 500 ml lactose-free or plant-based milk
- 280 g soft almond nougat (gluten-free, dairy-free)
- 50 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the caramel
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
How to Make Nougat Flan (Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free)
1. Preheat the oven
Heat your oven to 180°C (356°F) with fan/convection mode.
2. Prepare the caramel
Place the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until it turns a deep golden caramel.
Pour it into flan molds, tilting to coat the base evenly.

3. Prepare the flan mixture
Blend the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and chopped nougat until smooth and silky.
Pour into the caramel-lined molds.
4. Bake in a water bath
Place the molds in a deep tray and fill it halfway with hot water.
Bake 35 minutes (or 45 minutes for a large mold), until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

5. Chill and serve
Cool completely, then refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
Unmold and serve cold with the caramel cascading over the flan.

Serving Suggestion
Garnish with toasted Marcona almond flakes, a dusting of cinnamon, or a small piece of nougat for an elegant festive touch.
